Risk Management

To protect its professional liability, Benchmark has a policy of internal risk management which means all valuations include:

  • Full internal and external inspection of properties
  • Comprehensive field notes
  • Analysis of sales data
  • File notes and supporting information relating to valuation calculations and conclusions
  • Internal peer review of reports prior to issue
  • All valuations completed in accordance with the Australian Property Institute’s Professional Practice Guidance Notes


Code of Ethics

As members of the Australian Property Institute, all our professional staff are bound by, and actively uphold, the Institute’s Code of Ethics and Rules of Conduct in relation to professional practice.

Professional Development

Benchmark believes in keeping ahead, not just keeping up. Our professional staff are constantly updating and improving their knowledge and skills base through the Australian Property Institute’s continuing professional development and professional certificate programmes.

Property Records

Meticulous and comprehensive record keeping is a feature of Benchmark’s service. Since Mark Hopcraft started the practice in 1976, an extensive historical database has been maintained and constantly updated. This database provides a sound basis for Benchmark’s reasoned and substantive property advice and consultancy services.
